Floral Jacket

I know we are only in February, but I am already thinking of warmer weather. Since we have a little while until we get there it is time to work some color into your outfit. In this outfit I have decided to mix up a typical business casual look with a floral blazer. This silky number will definitely help hold you over until spring. If flowers aren’t your thing, play around with bright colors, patterns, or both. Pair with a neutral top and jeans for the casual part of the outfit.

Baseball Hats

Baseball hats are moving from workout gear to fashion accessory. Many starlets are wearing baseball hats with heals for a night out of the town. While I would not recommend high heals and hats there are plenty of other ways to incoporate this accessory.

One can go the casual route with harem pants, short boots, and a baggy sweater. An ensemble that looks effortless and put together at the same time. The other is to dress up the hat a bit more with jeans, leather coat or zip up jacket, and boots. Both ways allow the wearer to work a baseball hat into an everyday look.

Flowy summer shirts

There is nothing better than a flowy shirt in the summer time to keep you cool. Recently The Loft had a 50% off sale and I scored big! I love the neckline on this because it looks like a typical scoop neck on the front and has a higher neck on the back. The pattern is very unique, almost a mix between a snake skin print and plaid. It also sinks into the background and lets the light blue stand out if you are far enough away from the viewer. Wearing a skinnier pant and having your hair back allows the shirt to be center stage.

I am determined to keep moving forward with spring despite the snow that just hit New England. Lucky for me it melted just in time for this week’s blog post! My outfit shows exactly where I am in the season.

With one foot in spring, I tried to use the colors that I am excited to start seeing once things start to blossom and bloom! The other foot is still unfortunately in winter, and I still need to have a layered ensemble.

I love to have contrasting shapes in my outfits and thus, the round glasses were a great match with the straight lines in the coat.

Neutral colors are something I don’t wear enough of. To challenge myself I decided to create a full outfit out of neutral colors. I paired a beige coat with a white top, black pant, black flats and a grey scarf. I added a hint of peach color to the lips.

Green Flannel & Black Skirt

Flannel has definitely been making a come back these past few years. I recently gave into the trend and bought a green plaid collared shirt. Just my luck this purchase has already paid off. I have been able to wear it to seasonal gatherings at work or with friends. Pairing it with a skirt makes the top just fancy enough to wear to a holiday party.

I LOVE SWEATERS!! I am that girl who wears a jacket in July. This sweater is the perfect combination of cozy and smart that makes it ideal for colder weather. The slits in the side made it easy to move (and to accommodate for a full belly for those of us who love to eat). To top if off the dark pink allows all of us feel like we have a little color during the autumn season.
